Abstract
In this paper we use measurements captured from real Wifi devices, to analyze their statistical properties specifically, we investigate the time dependent noise affecting the received signal strengths, the stationary aspect of the RSS statistics (mean received signal strength) when we stay motionless. Then we explore the time independent noise which emerges during the building of signal maps. We use also a geostatistical approach to analyse, model and predict mean signal strengths.
