Abstract :
This paper describes the tests and analysis performed on 3 times 18,000 HP purged and pressurized synchronous motors in order to comply with API 546 standard requirements. These tests are even more important if considered that these motors are being supplied power from an adjustable speed drive that varies the motor speed from 1260 up to 1890 rpm on offshore platforms
