  • Abstract
    Considering the much computational complexity of selecting inter macroblock coding mode for H.264, an improved fast mode decision is proposed in this paper by exploiting the features in spatio-temporal domain. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm reduces the encoding time by 89.94% on average without consideration performance degradation.
