Abstract
Traditional error control schemes considered videos as low-level bit streams, ignoring the underlying visual content. When viewing one video sequence, people often pay more attention to some specific visual object than others. This "focusing effect" is what we called \´focus of attention\´ (FOA). If video content is taken into considerations during error resilience process, the network resource can be utilized efficiently, and salient regions which attract attention can be protected hierarchically. As a result, the reconstructed video can satisfy the user\´s perception demand maximally. The FOA-based error resiliency schemes proposed in this paper divide the video content into three hierarchies according to human\´s attention sequence, then associating with representative error resiliency model. As a result, the most valuable information is achieved at the minim cost.
