Abstract :
The number of IT equipments is rapidly and continuously increasing. But it leads also to high energy consume. Various solutions are concerned for minimizing the energy consumption. Wake on LAN is one of these solutions. It is a function through which PCs and other Internet connected equipments and devices are remotely woken up from sleeping states when they need to work. This paper presents a novel implementation of the wake on LAN function. An embedded system directly connected to Internet is used for waking up PCs or other equipments and devices connected to Internet.
