Moore´s Law has been fundamental to the silicon industry, obeyed for the past 30 years; however, technology scaling will become difficult beyond 0.18 micron, threatening Moore´s Law. This paper discusses future challenges, implication to microprocessor performance, power, and integration, and suggests alternatives to abide by Moore´s Law
