Notice of Retraction

Based on five series of TM images, the quantity and spatial feature changes of land use in Pearl River Delta region during the period of 1985 to 2005 were analyzed quantitatively with the support of RS and GIS technology. The results showed a significant increase in the area of urban and rural construction land and a decrease of arable land, which suggested that the study region is in a fast developing stage of urbanization to a certain extent.
