Abstract :
In this paper, a distributed antenna system (DAS) architecture is proposed for femtocell deployment, which provides a way to efficiently distribute wireless connections inside a building or a business premise. It would be more effective in scenarios where steel columns and layers of concrete can interfere with wireless signals, which for example is the case in many Asian countries. We propose a DAS flexible link configuration mechanism with antenna localization and access management for practical applications in femtocell deployment. Furthermore, a DAS can be used to get rid of `dead zones´ by routing radio frequency signals through wired or wireless connections from a single base station to multiple antennas located throughout the building. Examples and simulation results have been provided to illustrate the advantages of the proposed scheme.
