Abstract :
In this study, a method was proposed for removing the effect of swallowing on HRV analysis and tested its efficiency. For this reason, an experiment which swallowing times were determined with fixing a microphone on subjects´ throats was prepared. With comparing with and without swallowing regions on swallowing times known HRV signals, it was seen that the swallowing changes HRV standart parameters statistically significantly. The statistical differences between those regions with swallowing and without swallowing were lost when the method proposed for removing the effect of swallowing on HRV was applied on the same signals.
