Abstract :
Electromagnetic Wireless Power Transmission (WREL) can be achieved by using resonant coils coupled via their magnetic fields; these resonant coils must be, in addition, properly coupled to the source and load. By using a simple, yet rigorous, equivalent network, we introduce a computer-aided design procedure to reach the maximum efficiency for a given value of the resonators quality factor and for a specified value of the coupling (i.e. of the distance between the coils). The proposed design procedure provides the matching network values at the input and output sections. A test system is designed, simulated and measured to show the effectiveness of the proposed procedure.
