Abstract :
Other researchers have found it difficult to design a symmetrical six-port waveguide junction for operation over the entire WR90 bandwidth. A novel design has been proposed in the present paper by incorporating a combination of features (viz. over-sized cavity, rectangular-window irises, dielectric sleeve and metallic post with ridges). Simulations and measurements have confirmed that the resulting prototype is able to meet the 20dB targets for its residual mismatch and isolation parameters over 50% of the WR90 bandwidth (from 9.7GHz to 11.8GHz).
