Abstract :
QoS schemes to control the bandwidth in access systems are needed to support time-critical and mission-critical applications running on IP networks. We have previously proposed an access network control protocol that can provide users on demand with temporary or virtual IP leased circuits, whose bandwidth can be dynamically controlled by the users. This paper presents a Java-based configuration that ensures wide applicability by hiding the differences among lower layers. The system provides dynamic and unified control of the bandwidth by interworking the IP layer and the lower layers. Evaluation results obtained with an experimental system are also shown
