Abstract :
The authors present a new framework for fast decoupled state estimators. Decoupling is seen not as zeroing coupling submatrices in the problem Jacobian, but as a two-step procedure to solve full-Newton equations without major approximations. In addition to presenting a sound derivation of the standard version of the fast decoupled state estimator the authors propose a new version which presents better performance when applied to systems with critical r/x ratios. Test results as well as illustrative examples are presented and discussed.<>
