Abstract :
Minimization of the scattered fields produced by objects exposed to the near field of an antenna system is reduced to determining the correcting excitations with the corresponding restrictions in the given angular regions. Corresponding integral equations of the second kind and minimization conditions for the scattering fields are given. A refined numerical technique based on a variational approach using the finite element method is presented for the solution of scattering problems. Minimization conditions are expressed in terms of vector potentials, which are solved by the method of dynamic programming for the discrete phase distributions. The estimations of accuracy for the different scattering objects and antenna systems are obtained
