Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to inform on the contribution of Baron P.L.Shilling (1786-1837) in creation of electromagnetic telegraph. This presentation is an annex to the materials prepared for Milestone Program (LtShilling´s Pioneering Contribution to Practical Telegraphy, 1828-1837Gt). This paper tells about Shilling´s life and about his work. Invention made by Shilling is compared to the achievements of A.-M.Ampere, C.F.Gauss and W.E.Weber, W.F.Cook and C.Wheatstone, S.Morse.
