Abstract :
Describes the WindowLite, which is a compact handheld signal strength meter with an LCD graphics display and a data entry and control keypad driven by two microprocessors, an 80188 Intel processor and a Signetics 80C552 processor. Thus the WindowLite is a small multiprocessing system. It uses a multilayer architecture with low intercommunication requirements combined with a blackboard structure for interprocess communication. This layered design provides a high degree of flexibility, extensibility and reusability. Moreover, the low degree of programmer interaction allowed by the design enhances programming efficiency and productivity
