Abstract :
The primary role of an automatic load frequency control (ALFC) is to controls the real power and frequency. State equations of system for a steam turbine (with and without reheating) and hydro turbines (with and without compensation) are proposed in this paper. Then by examining some factors such as turbine time constant, inertia constant, damping factor and governor speed regulation, the frequency control methods and influence of a small load variation are discussed.
