Abstract :
For the effective thermal conductivity of dry sintered metal fibers, results obtained with existing models are compared with experimental data, and a new empirical expression that compensates for the effects of the aspect ratio of the fibers is presented. It is shown that the present equation predicts the data with about 10% deviation, whereas the Acton equation, which has been recommended in some references, has approximately 200% error
