Abstract :
A full surface wave analysis of the radiation pattern of end-fire tapered slot antennas on dielectric substrates is presented. Numerical results for various geometries and output slot widths of the antennas are given. The results are verified by comparisons with measured patterns for various dielectric substrates and antenna dimensions. It is shown that higher order modes should be taken into account to obtain sufficiently accurate results for wide output slot widths
