  • Abstract
    The author considers the geometric and physical aspects that permit the introduction of the so-called /spl alpha/-characteristics for studying the behavior of electromagnetic field components in the vicinity of a set of points with fractal properties. To estimate the /spl alpha/-characteristics, possible algorithms are formulated, namely a geometric one involving the evaluation of the Hausdorff measure and an analytical algorithm permitting the Hausdorff measure to be evaluated through the application of fractional derivatives and integrals.
