            Abstract :
A comparative thermodynamic analysis of energy systems for power recovery from industrial low-heat sources has been made among flashing expansion, organic Rankine cycle (ORC), total-flow, total-flow-with-separation, and combined systems. The results show that single and two-stage flashing systems are special cases of total-flow separation systems. The latter is more efficient than an ORC system from 80°C and is better for higher temperatures. Regression formulas for predicting power recovery for total-flow separation systems are given for practical use
