Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to present a "Mixed Reality Application," which will be used in the visualization and presentation of buildings. It simulates a physical model in its normal environment for the user. This has the advantage over normal models in that it allow, for real-time manipulation of the model as allows as discussions with others about the model over long distances. Through a virtual-reality mode the interior of the model way be explored. In this mode a background picture of the physical location will be used to help the user with his visual orientation. The presented prototype will be tested out at the ETH in the undergraduate courses of the Architecture department.
