Abstract
This study aims to determine the body density using the hydrostatic weighing method as a standard and comparison of results obtained with the dynamometer and a microcontroller-based system using the load cell. We used a population sample of 78 male subjects, between 18 and 35 years of age and were 7 to 10 measurements of the hydrostatic weighing for each. Through the SPSS software was analyzed information obtained from the body density in both cases. The automated system is presented repetitive, reproductive, compact, performs data acquisition and through the RS 232 provides for the calculations by the software. There were significant differences when compared measures of body density by two procedures.
