Abstract :
The snow depth retrieval is very complex, which is a ill-posed problem. Most retrieval methods are empirical method, so the threshold has to be adjusted in different region. This paper make a comparison and analysis between snow-depth retrieved from AMSR-E data in China and ground measurement obtained from meteorological stations. The analysis indicates that one or two threshold of general method is not very suitable for complex whether conditions. The main reason is that the threshold is different under different conditions, especially for complex condition which has the snowfall, snow, cold freezing, raining at the same time.
