Abstract :
In this research, an “intelligent” vehicle routing system is developed. Applications of the system are considered for the stochastic vehicle routing problem (demand at the nodes is treated as a random variable and the actual demand value is known only after the visit to the node). The developed “intelllgent” system makes “online” decisions as to whether to reject or include a new node into developing vehicle route. The results are found to be very close to the best solution assuming that the future node demand pattern is known. The system applications appear to be very promising
