Abstract :
Simulation, implementation and test results of underexcitation limiters (UEL) and overexcitation limiters (OEL) for a digital excitation system are presented. Both the OEL and the UEL in this implementation are of the summed limiter type as opposed to takeover type. A power system consisting of a generator connected to an infinite bus is considered. The simulation and test results show the desirable steady state and dynamic characteristics of the limiters
