  • Abstract
    We describe the communication mechanism of a heterogeneous system developed for image processing applications. The performance of the system depends on the communication mechanism used. In our design, we have employed QuickRing. QuickRing provides a high data transfer rate, 160 Mbytes/s, and supports two modes of data transmission, directed mode and multicast mode. We investigate the performance of these communication modes and their use in heterogeneous systems
