Abstract
The use of Virtual Reality in training application is becoming common. In some areas VR is used to improve training, at the same time avoiding risks and reducing expenses in complex learning environments. The system reported in this work focuses on training of off-shore platform personnel. The system uses a kinect device to allow a user to move around a 3D model of an off-shore oil platform. Such user can have a first person experience while navigating and interacting with the 3D model.
