Abstract :
Microwaves as a part of radio frequencies have been a subject of academic interest in Indian Universities and research centers even before the beginning of the last century, with some role in domestic and overseas communication. There is renewed interest in microwave engineering and technology with the advent of mobile communication on massive scale and the potentially attractive applications in transportation, health and medicine, and safety and security. The new environment has created excellent opportunities for the young aspiring engineer.
