Abstract :
The configuration of a novel C-band spatial power combiner in waveguide is introduced. Employing the optimized Klopfenstein tapered slot antenna arrays, the waveguide-based power combiner based on 2times4 arrays at C band (3.6-4.4 GHz) was made. Its size is 70 mmtimes98 mmtimes170 mm and it is implemented by using eight commercial GaAs MMIC power amplifiers. CW power combiner measurements were performed with output power greater than 20 W (CW) at the frequency range from 3.6 to 4.4 GHz, where the maximum saturation output power is 46.82 dBm (48.08 W) at 4.35 GHz. The corresponding linear gain is about 9.5 dB,the PAE is approximately 26% and the efficiency is about 75%.
