Abstract :
This paper presents a part of the analysis results of a flame-retardant 4 (FR-4) production process of printed circuit boards. Seven environmental indicators have been derived from an environmental process modeling. The 7 environmental indicators are linked to 7 environmental load elements: material use, use of aiding compounds, water use, energy use, produced emissions and waste, and the needed packing material. These 7 environmental load elements determine the base elements of an environmental performance tool and hence the environmental performance of a produced mass of printed circuit boards. Such a specified environmental performance gives substance to the notion of environmental quality
