Abstract :
This paper demonstrates a low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) hairpin filter for Ku-band receiver. Electromagnetic Field (EM) simulation is employed in determining the physical dimension of the filter. The implemented LTCC filter occupies an area of only 5.6 mm times 2.3 mm. The hairpin filter is fabricated on an eleven layers LTCC substrate. The dimension of the filter is 9.6 mm times 8.6 mm times 1.1 mm. The measured insertion loss is smaller than 2.93 dB with a center frequency of 16.57 GHz; the insertion loss is below -14.5 dB including the RF connector. The bandwidth of the filter is 2.94 GHz. The tolerance of the LTCC process is also analyzed by EM simulation.
