Abstract :
Wind and solar energy are being increasingly used in electric power supply due to environmental concerns and fuel cost escalation associated with conventional energy sources. Wind and sunlight are, however, variable energy sources and behave very differently from conventional energy sources. Energy storage systems are, therefore, often required to smooth the fluctuating nature of these energy conversion systems. This paper presents a method for capacity adequacy evaluation of a power system containing wind energy, solar energy and energy storage
