Abstract :
In recent years, the business environment for Fuji Xerox has transformed rapidly with the merging of the office equipment market and the information technology market. As a result, a more efficient concept of product development was needed. This report describes the innovative, efficient method of product development: development of office equipment in functional modules. The benefits of module and submodule developments include increased recycling (environment-friendly), extended material life and increased design latitude (extendibility and flexibility of functions). The above is explained in the following order: (1) a brief description of Fuji Xerox; (2) changes in customer requirements and business environment; (3) product development activity; and (4) roles and tasks of management
