Abstract :
We examine a mobile data terminal equipped with a dual antenna receiver. A potential 4th generation communication system, namely Infostation, is taken as a framework to study smart antenna signal processing at the mobile receiver. We introduce a new criterion to mobile communications and compare the performance of the new smart antenna control method and a classic smart antenna receiver. Based on computer simulations, we draw conclusions with respect to the new receiver as well as to the Infostation system concept
