Abstract :
We describe a high performance portable read only memory generator tool for CMOS circuits. The layout strategy uses a tiling placement approach to ensure good density. The leaf cells are designed using symbolic layout, providing a high degree of technology independence. The tiler is written using the general purpose C language to ensure software portability. Exhaustive simulation of the extracted layout ensure the validity of the tool. This ROM generator is part of the public domain Alliance CAD system
