Abstract :
Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) allows power companies to improve service quality and prevent equipment functional failure. This paper presents an RCM model for capacitor voltage transformers, which has been developed based on experience of maintenance crews of an important Brazilian power transmission company. Statistical assessment of failures in that company has been performed, in order to take into consideration a great number of failure possibilities. Some of these statistical data are presented along with relevant concepts and the major components of the developed RCM models
