Abstract :
Global supply chains for electronic assembly are evolving from unidirectional flows of materials, parts, and products into more complex webs of interconnected forward and reverse arcs. In this paper, we characterize forward production and distribution of parts and products and reverse flows for reuse, recycling, and disposal of used products and packaging. We develop a mixed integer programming model to support decision making for effective design and operation of the reverse production system
