Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative analysis of two speed control methods applied to the induction machine: - the indirect field oriented vector control (IFOC) and the model reference adaptive control (MRAC), including a robust parameter estimation technique. The IFOC and MRAC strategies are based on the same control vector principles. As will be demonstrated, the inclusion of a robust parameter estimation procedure in these control methods will provide the increasing of its robustness in relation to the changes of the electrical parameters of the machine. The simulation results indicate the improvement of the proposed methods. Experimental tests prove the robustness of the estimation scheme and a better performance of the robust IFOC-controlled induction machine.
