  • Abstract
Hand hygiene is effective way of prevention of infectious disease such as influenza. The practice of hand hygiene is performed using an alcohol-based hand rub or by washing the hands with soap and water. However, even health care workers´ hand hygiene compliance rate is lower. Hand hygiene is important not only health care workers, even the common man. Therefore, we performed an opinion survey of hand hygiene by interview and questionnaire in cafeteria of Naruto University of Education. As a result, we revealed an expectation for hand hygiene is high, but the implementation rate is low. In addition, we performed a survey of why do not hand hygiene and necessary assistance of perform hand hygiene. In this study, we consider the results of the survey, we construct a MR (Mixed Reality) space using projection mapping to experience effect of hand hygiene to improve hand hygiene implementation rate. The constructed MR space represent virtual virus visually. Moreover, when use an Alcohol - based hand rub, the virus disappears to experience the effects of disinfection. The developed MR system for the MR space comprises a projector, a pressure gauge (balance wii board), a display, a PC, a projector fixing tripod, and a control/display application. The pressure gauge is installed on the alcohol-based hand rub to detect the use of it. As a result of set the developed system, hand hygiene implementation rate is improved by 8.4% on average.
