Abstract :
A multimedia communication system combines many of the information resources such as text, images, data, fax, video and audio signals using the networking power of existing network operating systems (NOS). The Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows facilities have been widely used in many areas of client-server networking. This research effort effectively combines the merits of the Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows to produce a user friendly multimedia communication system as a final product. The basic framework for the multimedia communication system is created using the Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) with object linking and embedding (OLE) capabilities. Object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques are employed to ensure software reusability. The framework is designed around the Win32s API to allow future compatibility with Windows 95 and portability to Windows NT
