Abstract :
In this paper we present a novel multiple channel microelectrode system capable of recording field potential and cellular firing activity from the cortex of patients having medically intractable epilepsy. With the aid of this system, we can have a more detailed insight into the cortical mechanisms of epilepsy. The main concepts of the system design and some of the preliminary results are discussed.
