Abstract :
The pattern concept has been a very useful tool both for teaching and designing systems in architecture, software programming, management and in telecommunications. However, until now, no work had been done in the field of digital communication systems design. The paper proposes a set of patterns for digital modulation design and summarizes a pioneering university degree thesis project on this topic (Hernandez, E., 2003). First, we introduce the reader to the pattern concept. Then we give some motivation for the use of patterns, and finally the proposed patterns for modulation are briefly explained, and an application example is given.
