Abstract :
Different traditional and/or novel techniques can be applied to reduce or eliminate electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions, which are nowadays a great concern in electrical/electronic applications. Both conducted and radiated noise emissions cause a number of severe EMI problems. That is why this paper is aimed to study different PWM strategies to restrict or overcome these problems; especially those from the common-mode (CM) conducted noise. The simulated results show that the active vector strategy is a good PWM technique for PWM voltage-source inverter, which is broadly used in adjustable-speed AC motor drive. The effect of dead time of PWM signals is also investigated and discussed.
