Abstract :
JXTA is an interoperable and platform independent peer-to-peer computing infrastructure. It is designed in a manner to address the needs of the widest possible set of P2P applications. In this paper, we propose SOS: a Service Oriented Architecture based on JXTA with semantic support. This contribution in regards to the existing platforms can be identified at three main levels: The architectural, resource description, and security levels. At the architectural level, SOS is an open expandable platform, which supports the plug-in of services in a seamless straightforward manner. As for resource description, SOS uses a semantic approach in order to describe any kind of resource: a shared file, a route path, or even a trust policy. Finally at the security level, SOS implements a Trust management service which relies on the SOS semantic layer, and benefits from the integration of the reputation and policy based approaches. An application called ldquoShare ITrdquo has been implemented to validate the SOS architecture.
