Abstract :
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are a promising candidate for future wireless communications systems. It is the radio propagation channel that determines crucially the characteristics of the entire MIMO system. Therefore, accurate modeling of MIMO channels is an important requisite for MIMO system design, simulation, and deployment. Moreover, the multidimensional statistical behaviour of the MIMO fading channel is of foremost significance to the system performance (e.g., influence of the spatial fading correlation). Therefore, it is important for the designer of a MIMO communication system to have an appropriate MIMO channel simulation model. Using different meaningful measures of quality, this paper investigates the accuracy of analytical MIMO channel models.
