Abstract :
Generally, stochastic analyses of voltage sags are based on short circuit calculations combined with historical fault rates data. Usually, a single network configuration is assumed and the system fault rates are applied to this configuration. However, in the operation of power systems, the network can adopt different scenarios and, consequently, the annual fault rates used for sags assessment should be applied to those different network configurations. In this paper, the influence of variations on the main components of a power system (generators, transformers and lines) on the stochastic assessment of voltage sags caused by short circuits is analyzed
