Abstract :
An overview of existing power system modeling and control techniques is reported and their limitations are discussed. Also, a comprehensive model for a single-machine infinite-bus system, suitable for stability analysis and control, is derived using integral manifold theory. This model accounts for the unmodeled dynamics, system parameter variations, and unexpected disturbances acting on the system. It is shown that a realistic system modeling is via a nonlinear stochastic differential equation
