Abstract :
This paper proposes a concept of multimedia lane and station that use an ROF transmission technique for ITS road-to-vehicle communication. In the developing stages of ITS, its service infrastructure is expected to be limited to a relatively small portion of the road system due to incompleteness of ITS structure. The proposed ITS service structures make the most of this environment, by providing intermittent and non-real-time services by using high-bit-rate package transmission. Moreover, we propose an adaptive resource management scheme for radio on fibre (ROF) cells in order to improve the capacity of the multimedia lane system. Computer simulation confirmed that the proposed scheme is very effective in reducing the blocking rate and improving system capacity of the multimedia lane system
