  • Abstract
Many fault-tolerant systems have been designed for specific fault tolerance requirements and application domains. The author develops a fault tolerance framework that can be easily customized for various system specifications and requirements. The framework is constructed in an object-oriented paradigm. An application program can be plugged in the framework and a desired configuration can be specified to obtain the desired level of fault-tolerance for the application. The framework can also be easily extended to accommodate a wider spectrum of fault assumptions and system models
